Genuine BMW Part

This is a genuine BMW basic control unit SMG (exchange unit), part number 23 60 7 842 085. The number stamped on the part is 23607842085; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7842085. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH basic control unit SMG”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older number 7841799, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7842205.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

It weighs about 380 g (0.8 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
