Genuine BMW part 23 60 7 536 831: Basic control unit SMG (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 23607536831; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7536831. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH basic control unit SMG”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older number 7535368, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7537440.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

It weighs about 580 g (1.3 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
