Frequently asked questions

Buying used parts online means trusting a description. Here is what our descriptions actually mean.

Fitment

How do I know a part fits my car?

Every part page lists the BMW vehicles the factory catalog records that part against — chassis, body, model, engine and gearbox — and has a fitment check you can run against your own car. The most reliable route is to start from your car rather than the part: pick your E36 or E46 in the vehicle finder, or enter your 17-digit VIN, and browse the catalog already filtered to it.

If you are still unsure, email us the part number and your VIN before ordering. That is the cheapest way to avoid a return.

What if I order the wrong part?

Contact us before sending anything back and we will sort it out. The details are on the Returns page.

Condition and authenticity

What do the condition grades mean?

Three grades, used consistently across the whole site:

  • Good — minimal wear, fully functional.
  • Fair — normal wear for its age, fully functional.
  • Acceptable — visible wear, still fully functional.

All three are working parts; the grade describes cosmetic and wear condition, not whether it functions. The same part number can be in stock in more than one grade, each priced separately, and you choose the grade when you add it to the cart.

Are these genuine BMW parts?

Yes — these are original parts removed from E36 and E46 cars, not pattern or aftermarket copies. The part numbers, names, diagrams and fitment data on this site come from the genuine BMW parts catalog.

Are the photos of the actual part?

The photographs on a listing are of the part you will receive. The technical line drawings you see under “Diagrams” are the factory exploded views for that assembly — they show where the part belongs on the car, not its condition.

Are used parts covered by a warranty?

These are second-hand parts sold as described by their grade, so there is no manufacturer warranty. What we stand behind is the description: if a part arrives damaged, or is not what the listing said it was, tell us and we will make it right. See Returns.

Ordering and shipping

How fast do you ship?

Orders are normally dispatched within 1–2 business days, and you get tracking by email once the parcel is on its way. How long it then takes to arrive depends on the carrier and where you are.

What does shipping cost?

Shipping is a flat $9.99, and free on orders over $75.00. The exact total, including tax, is shown at checkout before you pay. Very heavy or awkward items may need to be quoted separately — if that applies to something in your cart we will contact you rather than silently ship it.

How do I pay?

Card payment is handled at checkout by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Finding what isn't listed

Do you have a part that isn't on the site?

Quite possibly. The catalog on this site covers the whole E36 and E46 parts range, and what is listed as in stock is only the portion already pulled, photographed and graded. If you find the part page but it shows no stock, use Request This Parton that page — it sends us the part number. If you cannot find the part at all, email [email protected] with your VIN and a description.

Do you only deal in E36 and E46?

Yes. Those two chassis are all we stock and all we claim to know well.
