SMG control unit programmed (exchange unit) — a genuine BMW part, number 23 60 7 837 730. The number stamped on the part is 23607837730; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7837730. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH-SMG control unit programmed”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older number 7836385, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7843254.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

It weighs about 500 g (1.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
