SMG control unit programmed (exchange unit) — a genuine BMW part, number 23 60 7 542 374. The number stamped on the part is 23607542374; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7542374. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH-SMG control unit programmed”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older number 7553682, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E46 convertible (330i, 2001–2006), with the M54 engine.

BMW draws it on the Programmed SMG control unit (23_0913) diagram. It weighs about 400 g (0.9 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
