Genuine BMW part 23 60 7 837 092: SMG control unit programmed (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 23607837092; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7837092. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH-SMG control unit programmed”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older number 7837090, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7837718.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on the Programmed SMG control unit (23_0899) diagram. It weighs about 430 g (0.9 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
