BMW 6 CD changer ai (exchange unit) — a genuine BMW part, number 65 12 9 131 853. The number stamped on the part is 65129131853; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9131853. BMW's catalog calls it “Exch. BMW 6 CD CHANGER AI”. You will find it on our Instruments & Electronics shelf, under Radio, amplifier, CD player. It supersedes the older number 9119706, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E46 coupe and convertible (323i, 325i, 328i, 330i and M3, 2000–2006), with the M52, M54, M56 or S54 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 7 diagrams, among them CD Changer (65_0457) and CD Changer (65_0703). It weighs about 1.9 kg (4.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
