Basic control unit DME (exchange unit) — a genuine BMW part, number 12 14 1 432 522. The number stamped on the part is 12141432522; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1432522. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit DME”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1432521, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, touring and compact (316i and 316i 1.6, 1993–1997), with the M43 engine.

BMW draws it on the Uncoded DME control unit (12_1979) diagram. It weighs about 526 g (1.2 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
