This is a genuine BMW body nut, part number 07 12 9 904 232. The number stamped on the part is 07129904232; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9904232. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Group 12. It supersedes the older number 9925743, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 99 diagrams, among them Mechanical Connection Elements (41_0982) and Mechanical Connection Elements (41_1433). It also comes in BMW kits Set mounting parts, fire extinguisher (1906501) and Installing Set Automatic Air Conditioner (9405891).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
