Genuine BMW part 33 12 1 213 949: Shaft seal. The number stamped on the part is 33121213949; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1213949. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Other Rear Axle parts. It supersedes the older number 1212197, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and convertible (M3, 1996–1999), with the S50 engine. It also fits the E46 coupe and convertible (M3, 2001–2006), with the S54 engine.
