This is a genuine BMW hex nut, part number 51 13 8 133 382. The number stamped on the part is 51138133382; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8133382. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 0152985, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E46 touring (323i and 325i, 2000–2005), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 8 diagrams, among them Retrofit kit, roof railing (03_0206) and Rear Axle Carrier (33_1138). BMW's catalog calls for four of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Retrofit Business package (2220083).
