The number stamped on the part is 12147575668; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7575668. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit DME”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 7574419, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7580280.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on the Basic control unit DME / MSD802 (12_1430) diagram. It weighs about 1.2 kg (2.7 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
