This is a genuine BMW basic control unit DME (exchange unit), part number 12 14 7 509 943. The number stamped on the part is 12147509943; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7509943. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit DME”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 7509942, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7511570.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

It weighs about 348 g (0.8 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
