Genuine BMW part 12 14 1 438 787: Basic control unit DME (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 12141438787; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1438787. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit DME”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1430273, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1430785.

It fits the E46 sedan and coupe (320i, 323i and 328i, 1999–2005), with the M52 engine.

BMW draws it on the Basic control unit DME (12_0896) diagram. It weighs about 346 g (0.8 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
