Genuine BMW part 11 12 1 726 238: Dowel. The number stamped on the part is 11121726238; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1726238. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Cylinder head with cover. It supersedes the older number 1278954, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 297 diagrams, among them Engine block mounting parts (11_1161) and Engine block (11_1177). It also comes in BMW kits Parts Set (2700581) and Parts Set (7743793).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
