Torx bolt — a genuine BMW part, number 23 00 1 222 894. The number stamped on the part is 23001222894; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1222894. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older numbers 0417164 and 1221897, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M43, M44, M50, M52 or S50 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 21 diagrams, among them Clutch (21_0227) and Gearbox Mounting (23_0491). It weighs about 90 g (0.2 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
