This is a genuine BMW torx bolt, part number 23 00 1 222 893. The number stamped on the part is 23001222893; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1222893. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older numbers 0417517 and 1215041, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 106 diagrams, among them Gearbox Mounting (23_1265) and Transmission mounting parts (24_0633). It weighs about 80 g (0.2 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
