This is a genuine BMW spark plug socket, part number 12 13 1 730 412. The number stamped on the part is 12131730412; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1730412. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Ignition coil. It supersedes the older number 9067831, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (320i, 323i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M52 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1999–2006), with the M52 or M54 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 8 diagrams, among them Igtn. coil/sparkplug connector/sparkplug (12_0409) and Ignition coil/spark plug (12_0425). BMW's catalog calls for six of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 40 g (under 0.1 lb).
