This is a genuine BMW basic control unit EGS (exchange unit), part number 24 60 7 631 026. The number stamped on the part is 24607631026; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7631026. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit EGS”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 7625222, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7356237.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

It weighs about 430 g (0.9 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
