Genuine BMW part 24 60 7 548 312: Basic control unit EGS (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 24607548312; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7548312. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit EGS”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 7522980, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E46 body style (320i, 325i and 330i, 2001–2006), with the M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on the Basic Control Unit EGS (24_0832) diagram. It weighs about 320 g (0.7 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
