The number stamped on the part is 13711730279; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1730279. You will find it on our Air Intake shelf, under Intake silencer. It supersedes the older number 1720590, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and convertible (318i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42 or M50 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 6 diagrams, among them Suction Silencer/Filter Cartridge (13_0344) and Suction Silencer/Filter Cartridge (13_0348). It weighs about 24 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
