01 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→Touring bicycle holder — a genuine BMW part, number 82 72 9 402 897. The number stamped on the part is 82729402897; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9402897. You will find it on our Merchandise & Accessories shelf, under Other Universal Accessories parts. It supersedes the older numbers 9401131, 9410608 and 9413954, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 9405242.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 11 diagrams, among them Touring bicycle holder (03_3212) and Touring bicycle holder (03_3213). It weighs about 3.3 kg (7.3 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
