Genuine BMW part 51 12 2 290 397: Synthetic strip. The number stamped on the part is 51122290397; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2290397. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Door, rear. It supersedes the older number 2290398, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on the Carrier, bumper rear (51_0664) diagram. It weighs about 62 g (0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
