Spring strut — a genuine BMW part, number 31 31 2 450 860. The number stamped on the part is 31312450860; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2450860. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Other Front Axle parts. It supersedes the older number 2450861, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1101129.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 5.8 kg (13 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
