This is a genuine BMW sealing plug, part number 34 31 1 160 133. The number stamped on the part is 34311160133; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1160133. You will find it on our Brakes shelf, under Foot, brake master cylinder. It supersedes the older number 1116692, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 6873449.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 49 diagrams, among them Brake Master Cylinder/Expansion Tank (34_0764) and Brake master cylinder DSC (34_0918). It weighs about 4 g (under 0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
