This is a genuine BMW right upper part of seat mechanism, part number 52 10 8 251 066. The number stamped on the part is 52108251066; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8251066. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Tail trim. It supersedes the older number 8201682, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 8251068.
It fits the E36 sedan and touring (318i, 320i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1998), with the M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Front Seat Backrest Frame (52_0626) and Front Seat Backrest Frame (52_0628). It weighs about 2.5 kg (5.6 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
