This is a genuine BMW right upper part of seat mechanism, part number 52 10 8 201 614. The number stamped on the part is 52108201614; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8201614. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Tail trim. It supersedes the older number 8201604, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Front Seat Electrical Backrest Frame (52_0706) and BMW Sports Seat Frame Electrical (52_0708). It weighs about 8.7 kg (19 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
