Pulley alternator — a genuine BMW part, number 12 31 7 552 352. The number stamped on the part is 12317552352; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7552352. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Alternator with motor and mounting. It supersedes the older number 7516099, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E46 body style (316i, 316ti, 318i and 318ti, 2001–2004), with the N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Alternator single parts, 90/110A Bosch (12_1135) and Alternator (12_1309). It weighs about 350 g (0.8 lb).
