Genuine BMW part 23 21 7 504 491: Output flange. The number stamped on the part is 23217504491; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7504491. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Transmission shafts. It supersedes the older number 1222772, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan and coupe (316i, 1999–2003), with the M43, N40 or N42 engines.

BMW draws it on 5 diagrams, among them S5D...G drive shaft/output shaft (23_0225) and S5D...G drive shaft/output shaft (23_0719). It weighs about 440 g (1.0 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
