Genuine BMW part 12 61 1 710 509: Oil pressure switch. The number stamped on the part is 12611710509; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1710509. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older numbers 0150684 and 1730160, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7568480.

It fits every E46 body style (320i, 325i, 330i and M3, 2001–2006), with the M54, M56 or S54 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 42 diagrams, among them Sensors (12_1079) and Sensors (12_1102). It weighs about 40 g (under 0.1 lb).
