Genuine BMW part 26 10 1 229 144: Manual drive shaft gearbox, aluminium. The number stamped on the part is 26101229144; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1229144. You will find it on our Drivetrain & Axle shelf, under Drive shaft, single components. It supersedes the older number 1229407, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7500010.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 7.8 kg (17 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
