Genuine BMW part 01 29 7 656 986: Install.instructions, hand protector. The number stamped on the part is 01297656986; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7656986. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Other Technical Literature parts. It supersedes the older number 7654659, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 50 g (0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Set Hand Protector (7652330).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
