Install.instructions, case holder — a genuine BMW part, number 77 01 8 528 645. The number stamped on the part is 77018528645; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8528645. It supersedes the older number 7710695, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on the Installation instructions (77_0020) diagram. It also comes in BMW kit Set mounting parts for case porter (8528644).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
