Hex Bolt — a genuine BMW part, number 07 11 9 912 558. The number stamped on the part is 07119912558; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9912558. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Group 11. It supersedes the older number 9912556, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and compact (318i, 318ti, 323i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M44, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 91 diagrams, among them Fixed Steering Column Tube (32_0710) and Vertically Adjustable Steering Column (32_0718). It weighs about 34 g (under 0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
