This is a genuine BMW SMG control unit programmed (exchange unit), part number 24 61 2 282 874. The number stamped on the part is 24612282874; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2282874. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH-SMG control unit programmed”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 2282604, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7836382.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
