SMG control unit programmed (exchange unit) — a genuine BMW part, number 24 61 2 282 464. The number stamped on the part is 24612282464; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2282464. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH-SMG control unit programmed”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older numbers 2229712 and 2282370, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 2282462.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
