01 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW navigation computer (exchange unit), part number 65 90 6 971 809. The number stamped on the part is 65906971809; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6971809. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH-Navigation computer”. You will find it on our Instruments & Electronics shelf, under Navigation systems. It supersedes the older number 6957604, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 6972752.
It fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 6 diagrams, among them Navigation computer / video module (65_0495) and Navigation system (65_0803). It weighs about 1.4 kg (3.2 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
