Bearing shell, blue — a genuine BMW part, number 11 24 1 284 854. The number stamped on the part is 11241284854; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1284854. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Connecting rod with bearing. It supersedes the older number 1284848, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 40 diagrams, among them Crankshaft with bearing shells (11_0292) and Crankshaft with bearing shells (11_1547). It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
