This is a genuine BMW basic control unit DME, part number 12 14 8 625 070. The number stamped on the part is 12148625070; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8625070. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 8617049, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 8652744.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on the Basic control unit DME / MEV1722D (12_1571) diagram. It weighs about 670 g (1.5 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
