This is a genuine BMW basic control unit DME, part number 12 14 1 432 401. The number stamped on the part is 12141432401; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1432401. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1429472, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1429895.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (320i, 323i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M52 engine — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Basic control unit DME (12_0885) and Basic control unit DME (12_1996). It weighs about 618 g (1.4 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
