What's Included

Air filter element — a genuine BMW part, number 13 72 1 730 449. The number stamped on the part is 13721730449; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1730449. You will find it on our Air Intake shelf, under AIR CLEANER. It supersedes the older number 1730946, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M50, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (320i and 323i, 2000–2005), with the M52 or M54 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 12 diagrams, among them Service, engine oil / inspection (02_0008) and Suction Silencer/Filter Cartridge (13_0370). It weighs about 230 g (0.5 lb). It also comes in BMW kits Service kit, Service II (2157529) and Service kit, Service II (2157530) and 2 more.

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
