Genuine BMW part 34 41 2 266 690: Wooden handbrake lever, pappel natur. The number stamped on the part is 34412266690; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2266690. You will find it on our Brakes shelf, under Parking brake. It supersedes the older number 2491410, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 and other engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Handbrake lever (34_0410) and Individual handbrake lever w/wood handle (91_1398). It weighs about 820 g (1.8 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
