Genuine BMW part 66 12 6 955 746: Universal key with remote control. The number stamped on the part is 66126955746; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6955746. You will find it on our Instruments & Electronics shelf, under Radio-controlled locking system. It supersedes the older numbers 6933722 and 6955745, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and 330i, 1999–2006), with the M52 or M54 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them Key with accumulator battery(from 09/99) (41_1330) and Key with accumulator battery (41_1476). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 20 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kits Set of Keys with EWS Control Unit (0030950) and Set of Keys with EWS Control Unit (0031983) and 2 more.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
