Torx screw with ribs — a genuine BMW part, number 33 21 7 571 990. The number stamped on the part is 33217571990; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7571990. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Other Rear Axle parts. It supersedes the older number 7501270, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E46 body style (330i and M3, 2001–2006), with the M54 or S54 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 6 diagrams, among them Drive Shaft-Cen.Bearing-Const.Vel.Joint (26_0196) and Drive Shaft-Cen.Bearing-Const.Vel.Joint (26_0197). BMW's catalog calls for six of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 30 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kits Repair kit bellows (0148326) and Set mounting parts (0150219).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
