The number stamped on the part is 51248122165; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8122165. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 8119273, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7202357.
It fits the E46 sedan (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and 330i, 1999–2005), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 9 diagrams, among them Single Components for Trunk Lid (41_1455) and Trunk Lid/Closing System (41_1555). BMW's catalog calls for four of these at each place it is fitted.
