This is a genuine BMW timing chain, part number 13 52 7 789 690. The number stamped on the part is 13527789690; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7789690. You will find it on our Air Intake shelf, under Other Fuel preparation and control parts. It supersedes the older number 2249852, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 8506969.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 330 g (0.7 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
