Throttle valve switch — a genuine BMW part, number 13 63 1 726 591. The number stamped on the part is 13631726591; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1726591. You will find it on our Air Intake shelf, under Electromechanical switching devices. BMW has since replaced it with 1721456.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 20 diagrams, among them Throttle housing Assy (13_0264) and Throttle housing Assy (13_0309). It weighs about 24 g (under 0.1 lb).
