Tailgate label — a genuine BMW part, number 71 21 7 451 525. The number stamped on the part is 71217451525; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7451525. You will find it on our Tools shelf, under Other Equipment Parts parts. It supersedes the older number 7204968, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on the Assorted information plates (71_0534) diagram. It also comes in BMW kits Retrofit kit leather boot (2179542) and Retrofit kit carpet boot (2179543).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
