Genuine BMW part 61 31 2 355 434: Switch SMG. The number stamped on the part is 61312355434; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2355434. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Switch. It supersedes the older number 2228764, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and convertible (M3, 1996–1999), with the S50 or S52 engines.
BMW draws it on the Various switches (61_0938) diagram.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
