Switch gearbox — a genuine BMW part, number 25 16 1 219 153. The number stamped on the part is 25161219153; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1219153. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Gearshift. It supersedes the older number 1218959, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1422821.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 60 g (0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
